Synopsis
Described as a musical for all ages, young and old, with nostalgia for the old, high camp for the young and silliness for all, Dames at Sea was a hit show of the 1968 off-Broadway season. The musical, (which was dubbed the best show of the season by Look magazine) is an all-singing, all-dancing tap extravaganza based on the campy nostalgia of 1930’s Hollywood musicals. An energetic All-American girl arrives in the Big Apple with nothing but a pair of tap shoes in her suitcase. She falls in love with a sailor (who just happens to be a songwriter), and then saves a Broadway show when the star can’t go on. Music! Curtain! Lights! It’s time for Broadway magic!
